About Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong, enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Our vision is that all youth achieve their full potential.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a proven youth mentoring organization, providing needed support to children in Gallatin County. Our agency matches children ages 5 through 15 with volunteer mentors. 

Internship Needs

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for Spring Interns. Below are intern responsibilities and expectations. Our office is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Hours are flexible and we work with students’ class schedules. We may ask for occasional help on nights or weekends to assist with events. This is an unpaid internship; however, we happily support our interns as they seek placement in other programs or apply to future jobs.

First and foremost, we are looking for someone passionate about the wellbeing of kids in our community. Many of our former interns pursue professions in the non-profit world after college. It is also important to us that our interns are comfortable problem-solving, collaborating, and advocating for their education.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Event Planning (Annual Gala, Ambassador Luncheon, Give Big & Match Appreciation)

-Make calls/contacts for donations
-Assist with event logistics and attend events
-Update donor management records
-Donor appreciation
-Recruitment booths or presentations
-Update website; social media campaigns
-Attend Committee Meetings

Data Support

-Formulate detailed data entries
-Be well-organized/able to follow assigned projects through to completion
-Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Be technologically literate with strong computer skills

Including: familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel and other commonly used software

Mandatory ability to demonstrate tactfulness in dealing with program participant information while maintaining confidentiality. Additional items may be added based on intern’s strengths or needs of the organization.
